Little Red Wagon is the first single from Cat Doorman Songbook, a 14 song album of children's tunes. Recorded in her home with the help of an insanely talented roster of Portland's finest players - including members of the Decemberists, Black Prairie, The Corin Tucker Band, Built to Spill and Old Light - Songbook's gorgeous compositions and vocal arrangements tell of the joys and mysteries of childhood, and speak up to the open hearts of kids and to the longings of their parents to be whole people. One hears the echoey sounds of the living room the instruments were tracked in, the whisper hiss of the tape the songs were recorded on. This is kids' music not only with a beating heart, but with real soul.
Julianna grew up a shy kid in Orange County, California. After high school, she made her way north to attend UC Berkeley and became part of a vibrant punk and art scene in San Francisco. 8 years ago, she and her partner of 13 years - the musician and recording engineer, Seth Lorinczi - moved to Portland, Oregon, planted their first real garden and built a music studio in their basement. They formed the band Golden Bears and welcomed their daughter in 2007. The three of them live with a rescue dog named Fern Fairy Flower Mystic Sparkle in an old house with a bunch of noisy chickens out back.
